White Picket Fences (Original Poem)

These white picket fences

Banish, protect, and warn me

These white picket fences

Make me growl in desperation

And exclaim with glee

These white picket fences

Try to keep me out

But I shout

I, too am worthy

I, too am enough

I, too belong

Then,

Suddenly,

These white picket fences

Fall down around me
